This original semi-antique kilim was handwoven in the Aegean region of Anatolia by a nomad woman for self use. It’s made of hand spun, naturally dyed sheep wool.
From 1960's.
The pattern and symbols on kilims always have special meanings. Most of them are heritages from Shamanic roots of Turks. The nomadic lifestyle of the people living within flat-weaving communities has remained close to nature. Kilims functioned as an expression of the hopes and wishes of the weaver in the form of motifs and symbolic talismans. They usually stand for protection against 'evil eye', abundance, fertility and unity of the lovers.
Pure wool with no chemical process is a perfect element for cleaning the negative energy in the environment.
Unique, irreplaceable, curated by Sade, restored and cleaned by our expert cooperators.
