They are all woven for self use by nomad women. Each item is a one of a kind piece of art. Irreplaceable, curated by Sade, restored and cleaned by the expert cooperators.

The nomadic people created textiles for the multi-functional needs that they had. A kilim was serving as container, wrap for precious objects, bed cover, dining table, blanket on a cold night and storage for wheat and rice. The spontaneous choices of the motifs were not only reflecting the wishes, prayers, dreams, pains of the weaver but also gives lots of clues about the social lives of the nomad tribes. The composition, color and use of individual motifs were characteristics of a particular tribe group. In that sence woven rugs can be a real substitute for written tribal historical documents or poems! 

We can say a Kilim is much more than a colourful wool fabric, it is historic, mystic, spiritual, sociological and psychological. To own at least one of them in your living space is just wonderful!
